Default Would like to take my Weapon to Maine

I am going to Maine later in the year & want to take my Weapon with me. I know MA does not recognize PA so I was wondering if any one had any idea what is involved in getting a LTCF from up there?
Since I will be traveling threw NJ NY Conn Mass NH I figured I would unload it & put in my lock box & burry in my bags & do the speed limit threw the communist states.

MA doesn't recognize PA LTCF - ME does (albeit only a couple states at the moment).

handgunlaw.us has the necessary links to get you the ME package. Basically its a downloadable application - include all the relevant materials and you should be good. I dont have ME myself as I only go every couple years, so its personally not worth the expense.

Click on the ME state graphic and a PDF file will open with instructions

Are you talking about getting a ltcf for Maine (ME) or Massachusetts (MA)? You'll be fine in NH.

    Here's a link to Maine's site:

PA and ME do not have reciprocity.

NY and MA still have those silly 10-round mag limits and NY in particular is known to have disdain for the federal law that allows us to transport unmolested through their Republik. I asked Mas Ayoob about it, and he recommended that you have only 10 round mags along in NY. If you have larger mags, either bury them somewhere away from the gun (and "legal" mags) or mail them ahead. MA isn't quite so crazy, but you could head north out of Hartford and quickly get into "free" country (VT, NH). A bit slower but a nicer drive -- and you'd avoid Boston 'burbs traffic.

ME seems to be as "easy" as PA to get the Permit...although costs a tad bit more at $60 for non-res. But can still can done entirely thru the mail.
