Advantage DA vs SA, or not?

I have an SA pistol and am preparing to buy another pistol to be used by my wife. I bought my pistol a year ago partly on availability and partly on price with no thought about trigger type or other considerations. My pistol works fine and I'll continue to train using it. Someday I may look for a more compact one to be easier to conceal, but the next purchase will be my wife's pistol.

I know the difference between DA and SA. And I suspect that some reasons for choosing one over the other are a matter of preference or feel or whatever. But are there tactical/safety/ease of use or other advantages that recommend DA over SA or the other way around?

HHMMmm. Didn't notice on the DA/SA thread started earlier. I think that may answer my question. Not that more information gives me a solid answer, but does give more to consider. It's all good.
