Hunting small game on SGL's in or near Berks County?

Any good places to hunt small game on the game lands in or near Berks? I was not aboe to hunt last season because of medical problems, but I went out Tuesday to look around up by Bright School road off 183, saw nothing but hawks and crows. Looking for squirrels, rabbits and later upland game - I know they stock that area with pheasant but it is like a parade every year-so many hunters in the same place it's a joke.

SGL 43 and French Creek State Park are decent enough for the small stuff

Besides crow & groundhogs, isn't small game (rabbits, squirrels) closed now? Gotta wait until next Fall.

I used to see a good amount of grouse at SGL43, but that was probably 20 years ago. I don't even go there anymore as it got to be too crowded.

Thanks. I will avoid the opening day rush - I'm retired and can go when I please.
Just looking for good places to hunt in the fall, not hunting right now....

LOWHILL HAS SQUIRRELS AND IS LOCATED NEAR RT100 AND 309. SQUIRRELS ARE LOCATED BEHIND AND AROUND THE RIFLE RANGE.
