TriStar over under 12 gauge
I'm looking to do some recreational skeet shooting on a retirement budget and must keep the price of a new gun down. I'm looking at a TriStar over and under 12 gauge shotgun listed on Cabelas website. Can anyone give me any review on this gun? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about TriStar guns. I would rather buy an old better known gun, than buy something I might have a tough time finding parts for.
Keep your eye out for a SKB, Browning, Ithaca or Beretta...etc. You may run across a bargain. I bought a SKB\Ithaca mod. 500 for 500.00 bucks. Good quality gun, other than having fixed chokes, it's very well made.
Go to www.cdnninvestments.com and download thier catalog on firearms. They sell some new guns on close out prices.
Good luck, enjoy your retirement! Welcome to PAFOA.I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning.[

Re: TriStar over under 12 gauge
Nothing wrong with the 3901 IMO. They are an older model, but nice guns.
I was at the Valley Forge Gun Show last week end and actually talked to a guy that bought a TriStar O\U. He uses it for waterfowl hunting. He said he beats the hell out of it and it keeps on working. He said they are made in Spain.
Hunting with it is one thing, but I wonder how well it would hold up to the riggers of 1000's of rounds on a clay target range. He found a guy that had 3 of them new and wanted to get rid of them and picked it up for 300.00. I guess for 300.00 you could consider it a throw away gun when it breaks.{if it breaks}I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning.[
