For the most part no but some like the HK USP have that sort of functionality.

I think FN and CZ may be only one that allows cocked/locked no?

No, the USP also allows cocked and locked as well as hammer drop.

The Taurus 92 clone allows cocked and locked but I don't believe that it has a hammer drop.

For home defense CC, Revolvers. First start in an investigation is mapping out evidence, such as shell casings. Guilt until proven innocent.

Just to warn you the fn45 has the longest & heaviest DA pull I have ever seen in a pistol. Good luck getting an accurate shot off.

    Holy necro thread!

First time I ever heard someone more concerned about dropping shells (to be used as evidence), than magazine capacity!

I seem to be drawn to the SA/DA pistols. The two that have my attention are the Rugar P345 and the FNP-45 by FNH. I think on both of these the manual safety is also the decock mechanism. Is this standard on most SA/DA pistols?

    Thanks
Technically the decocker is not a safety as the weapon can be fired in either DA or SA mode. Re-engaging the decocker to "disable" the trigger is not a recommended mode of carry for a DA/SA autoloader.

The DA/SA trigger system requires a much steeper learning curve in order to master the first DA trigger press. The recent crop of striker fired guns have much more manageable trigger systems and given their wide availability begs the question of why one would encumber oneself with the DA/SA system.

Apparently, I've been very unsafe for 30+ years.

Maybe if you are not careful, or aren't following Col Cooper's four rules.

Decockers pucker my butthole more than taking a 1911 out of condition one.
