    Default Another LTCF Letter

Was looking through some paperwork I have today trying to purge old/outdated stuff that I don't need anymore. Found the letter that came with my license..... it states:

    2. Overt and unnecessary display of your firearm in public places can cause alarm and adverse reactions by your fellow citizens, and create embarrassing situations, which could result in the revocation of your permit.
    4. Your permit does not exempt you from obeying local statutes or ordinances governing the use of firearms.
    5. Keep in mind: The very fact that you are carrying a firearm creates the possibility of it being taken from you and used against you or another person.
    9. A concealed firearm license does not confer law enforcement powers upon the licensee. Common sense would indicate that the constant carrying of a concealed firearm is not necessary, and you should restrict such activity to those situations that require it.
    11. Your permit is NOT a hunting license ...blah blah blah..... You are not permitted to carry a concealed weapon in your vehicle or on your person while spotting deer.

    Thoughts? Is #11 accurate?

Who wants to write a rebuttal? This letter might have changed since the new sheriff took office, not sure.

    #4 is blatantly wrong

§6120. Limitation on the Regulation of Firearms and Ammunition.
    (a) General rule. No county, municipality or township may in any manner regulate the lawful ownership, possession, transfer or transportation of firearms, ammunition or ammuni tion components when carried or transported for purposes not prohibited by the laws of this commonwealth.

I think I will Greg. I am going to head down to the sheriffs office and request a current copy of the letter. I am also gonna drive around to some of the local parks and check and see if they are posted.

Before you go ripping the sheriff a new ass get a copy of the paperwork. We just had a new sheriff take over at the beginning of the year. From what I hear this one is a very straight up by the book kind of guy. We might be surprised and find that his letter states the law and not opinion.

    ....or maybe not.

I know Eric, he is a good guy, but I won't hesitate to call him on it if he hasn't changed the letter.
