So my wife and I have been house shopping. We had an agent who we weren't really thrilled with but she went on vacation and left us with another agent who we really hit it off with...sadly they'd be splitting the comission/payout....whatever...so we go to sign paperwork to put an offer in on a place but we were running late because of the business at the FFL I use (I was like 3rd or 4th in line...buying a glock).

So once we arrive to sign I apologize again for being late and explained why.

So she says "why would you buy a gun?"

I reply "For protection, home defense, I carry pretty much all the time and I like it as a hobby too"

She asks if I'm carrying now so I say "yeah"
She looks me stone cold in the face and asks If I'm going to shoot her.

Some people.

The appropriate response would have been to just stare her down indignantly until she relented her gaze and watch her as she sheepishly concluded your business. I wouldn't have said another word that whole meeting.

This reminds me that I am bound and determined that my next 'woman' carries a firearm herself (preferably before we meet) - and I wouldn't want her to stop carrying just because she has me.

Heck, she might go somewhere without me.

Besides, I'll never know just when I may need 'cover fire'.
