Default Lansdale Borough Building - interesting conversation

While chatting with one of the very nice ladies at the Lansdale Borough building this morning to straighten out an online bill payment mishap, I asked her if the building had any no-gun policies or anything in case the online thing doesn't work out and I have to walk up to pay the bill in person, since I OC a sidearm on my hip.

"Well, do you have a permit?"

"I'll be walking in so, I don't need one"

"I don't think there are any policies or anything, so it shouldn't be a problem, I guess."

I then took a moment to explain to her that in PA, anyone over 18 can openly carry a weapon if they are on foot, and that a "permit" is only needed to conceal, carry in a vehicle, or go into Philly.

She said, "o.k.", and that was pretty much it. Just thought I would share.

I'll probably have to walk down anyway because their IT guys are dealing with some issues today.

Unless the borough building has a court facility or a K-12 school, they couldn't legally stop you even if they wanted to, and you weren't doing anything stupid such as waving the handgun around, threatening to kill the mayor, etc., etc.

Nothing they can do about it!

Remember, in court what a police officer says he saw is the same as if they show a film of it happening. You were waving it around. Your word against the word of a cop.
