Picked up a new Ruger MK III.

I looked at my ammo today... way too much .22lr sitting around not being used. So on impulse, I took a ride to my local gun shop to check out what they had. I found a Ruger MK III 22/45 that had a price of $320 NIB, so I adopted it. It's stainless with a polymer frame, and a 5.5" barrel.

I took it out to the range after inspecting/cleaning it at home. It is very accurate, and was a hoot to shoot. I heard that some 22/45s had a magazine seating problem when fully loaded, but this one doesn't. It ate 200+ rounds of American Eagle smoothly, and without a hiccup. I like that the slide locks back on an empty magazine (I had an old MK I, and those do not).

I guess I'll be at the range more often now.











It came with an optional stainless rail, and is drilled, tapped and capped. I placed it on top to show what it would look like mounted.

Fantastic rimfire Ruger. Now that is a mans gun, indeed. How else can you spend a few bucks on ammo pounding out the x ring of a target as a way to relax, a Ruger .22 no doubt.

Nice piece, congrats. I love my Ruger MK II, and it's now my son's favorite.
