I just joined Mount Joy Sportsmens Assoc a few weeks ago. Nice folks there too. Indoor Pistol, indoor archery, indoor BB/Pellet...24 hour access.

They are looking at building a 40+ outdoor pistol range and expanding the rifle range...They are really putting the money back into the facility.

Really? Curious to know what that's all about. We've been members for several years. We just never get to the meetings. The website doesn't have the info either. Thanks for the tip!

The Outdoor Pistol range is early in the process...They are just looking at the permits and pricing. Looks like a good opportunity to host more events and bring in money to the club. They seem to be really interested in Youth programs to0.

I certainly hope they add a 7 yard pistol range. Or better yet one that is surrounded by berms to practice holster draw, etc.

25 yards minimum for pistol... yeah, that's useful.

We (Janster and I) do enjoy the indoor range, and use the mobile target stand for what ever range we want.

Do they allow you to carry on the property? I thought they were the ones that made you put it away if you weren't shooting.

They don't allow OC. You may CC on the property (I haven't been to a meeting in @ 2 yrs. but, AFAIK the rules haven't changed). I bring what I am planning to shoot in my range box and rifle cases but, I keep my Kimber on me at all times.
If the rules had changed however, I would still CC my Kimber.

I am just about finished with my first AR15 build and need a place local to shoot. I usally just head back to Indiana county to site in my deer rifles the day before season, but now I like to shoot year round instead of the few days a year I am a custom too. I currently in mount joy and dont have many friends near by. Any help and any "buds" eager to help out would be apprecaited.

You are correct. No OC. I highly doubt that will ever change. They wont even allow siloette targets either.

Has anyone tried the indoor range at Mill Creek? They open it to the public on Sundays 12-2 according to their website.
"Why do you have a carry permit?" Why? Because it's my right!
