Default Why Carry Full Size when there are compacts

I was wondering why those of you that carry a full size pistol do so? A smaller pistol is lighter to carry and easier to conceal. So, why would you carry a full size pistol? Especially when there are good quality compact pistol out there?

Just so you know, I have been carrying my full size all day instead of my subcompact just to see how it feels. It is definately much heavier.

Why prompts you to go with the bigger pistols?

I used to carry a 1911 or Ruger P89, but lately it just sucks packing all that iron. I just got a Bersa for a little something different.

i shoot the fullsize all the time and it feels better in my hand than my "B.U.G". i don't worry about it being concealed. also a high quality Gun Belt makes a big differance in what you feel when carrying full size. i do carry a full size and a compact every day with two spare mags each, flash light, 2 knives, wallet, cell, and 6 Gun Rights fliers.

I just started carrying a full size Ruger P95 I was carrying a S&W .38 snubby. I am FAR more accurate with the P95 but it is tough to conceal so when the weather warms up I will probally go back to the 38 until I can get up some extra money for a cross breed. Money is very tight right now. das

i've had compact and subcompact guns, as well as full sized ones. i prefer shooting full sized guns; i'm a better shot with a 1911 than a P3AT. i don't mind smaller guns, for pocket carry, but it's just a personal preference.

wasnt there something about a post with having a gun for all seasons?

full size seems to be the winter gun for most people. but most do have smaller ones for summer time due to clothing.

i carry a sig 226, but also have a m&p9 compact. i figure before summer, ill finally get that crossbreed holster for the m&p to make cc in summer easier.

Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.
