    Default New P.A. resident

Hey every one, Just moved to chester county from N.Y.(the communist state). and i had a few questions. some of wich may have been addressed already by other people but i couldn't find them with the search function.

first, i'm going to obtain my P.A. drivers license on tuesday. will that automatically make me a P.A. resident or is there a length of time i have to wait to be considered a full fledged P.A. resident?

second, Last year i was arrested for D.U.I. in N.Y., i plead not guilty and was convicted of a lesser charge known as D.W.A.I wich according to N.Y. state law is violation not a misdemeanor. should i be concerned when applying for a L.T.C.F. in chester county?

my record was spotless before and has been spotless since.

You're a PA resident when you establish residency. One form of proof is a PA drivers license.

Your NY DUI shouldn't be a problem.

Unlike N.Y, or N.J, or N.D. or S.D or . . . there isn't a period after the first letter of our commonwealth's postal abbreviation. It's Pa.. I prefer to refer to it as Pennsylvania.

Actually....I don't think any of the states use periods for postal abbreviations...

Not any more but when I was young they did. Back in those days, Penna was commonly used for our state. Ariz. was Arizona, Calif. for California
