Basic/Intermediate Defensive Handgun with John Farnam -- March 6-7, 2010

A few spots still open!

1. Learn techniques for discouraging violent criminal predators with your presence and verbally.

2. Learn the principles of shooting smoothly, rapidly, precisely and effectively.

3. Learn how to turn the stress of a violent encounter into your advantage.

Because of the winter weather, this course has been re-scheduled for this upcoming weekend, Sat and Sun, March 6 and 7th, 2010 (9am until 6pm each day). The range is indoors and conveniently located at the Delaware Valley Sports Center at 101 Geiger Road in Philadelphia, PA 19115. The DVSC range for this weekend is totally reserved and dedicated for our use.

John Farnam, President of Defense Training International, has been training civilians, law enforcement and the military since 1979. This two day course, which includes a low light shooting session, will take defensive handgun beginners to an intermediate level of skill acquisition and intermediate level students will improve their skills set markedly.

Academic instruction includes:
* situation awareness
* threat evaluation
* the defensive mindset and force continuum
* legal savvy
* the physio/psychological aspects of lethal encounters

Live-fire training drills on the dedicated range include:
* threat evaluation
* risk identification and reduction
* lethal threat containment and management
* precision shooting
* discretionary shooting
* low-light shooting (with and without a flashlight)
* cover and movement
* performing under stress

Tactical training is conducted in a realistic manner, stressing correct use of cover, movement, challenges, and other important individual tactics. In addition, students will practice close and extremely close encounters weapon control.

There are still a few spots open. Given, that there are just a few days left before the course, if you are interested in attending, please contact Dr. Bruce Eimer by email: dr.eimer@personaldefensesolutions.net or by phone: 215-938-7283.
