    Exclamation AK Pic Request

Im in the market for another AK. But this time I want to get an underfolder style.

I have seen and shot the Yugo AK and it is very high quality, that I know.

But I would like to see some pictures of the Romanian Underfolder AK's.

    Thanks in advance!

I know about the belief that Yugo AK's are superior to others, but I will tell you that the new ones--at least those from Century--are crap.

I've now worked closely with 2 of the new ones. They do not use a 1.5mm receiver any more. That was what the Yugo quality was all about. It's gone. Now they use a run of the mill 1.0mm receiver with a US made non-chromed barrel that heats up really, really fast.

On both of the ones I've dealt with there have been feeding issues (I'm assuming as a result of the out of spec receiver) and the handguards (black poly) have been an absolute bitch to remove.

Make no mistake, if you can get your hands on an older one, with a thicker receiver and preferably an original barrel--do it! They're absolutely head and shoulders above any Romy build, my criticism is of the newer ones floating around cheap. They are not the same guns.

God damn, I had no idea they lowered the quality of the newer Yugo AK's. Thanks for letting me know.

The Yugo AK that I shot was an early one and it was magnificent.

    What a shame.

I was at my local fun shop and bought a tapco mag adn it wobbled still. I had one 40 round mag adn tried it out and no wobble. I guess that gives me a reason to buy more 40 round mags lol

buy a few more 40 rounders, and you'll enough of a reason to track down an rpk......which you can put a side folder on.
