    Default i caved in

been looking for a .44 magnum for some time now.
currently lusting over the s&w model 29-2.
well the things are out there, but dang do they command a premium price. anywhere from 800-1300.....money well spent, but i'am the bargain hunter.

the original m29 was discontinued in 1999.....but almost not really.
as early as 2001 there was a plethora of special editions, commemoratives, the heritage series, and then the classic series and it goes on and on.

well i found an m29-8......and there's like six different 29-8s...kinda.
this is the "mountain gun" version.
round butt, internal lock, frame mounted firing pin, laser etching and a bunch of mim parts....all the stuff i'm not a fan of.....the .44 magnum roll stamp on the barrel makes it worth it though. and i do lik'em 4" barrels.
there is an m29-8 "dirty harry edition" that would be cool...that damn movie made m29s almost impossible to find and pretty hard to afford when you did.
need to get dies, brass and projectiles for it, so it will be a little till i get to really play with it.....not that i already do not have a bunch of finger prints to wipe off it.

I really love this gun. Wish it was going in my safe.

compared to the 500 i got to play with recently, this will just be a handful of "where's the beef?"....but still a rock'n good time.

didn't care much for the wood that was on it...and goodyears are not even a option.
turns out smith offers round to square(butt) old skool target style stocks for the new guys.

Grips are nice. Might grab a set for my 29 classic. Don't care much for the roundbutt.
