Default I just learned a cool trick...

... and here I am all this time using Rem Oil on all the moving parts in my mil-surplus guns... No wonder they were a bitch to cycle.

I got this wild idea yesterday to use the mil-spec grease pots I got for my Garand, and put it in all the working parts in my AK when I detailed it. The difference it made was very noticeable. The bolt carrier slides like butter now.

Just a little tip I thought I'd share. I'm sure it's well known knowledge to some, but we all gotta learn sometime.

Just be aware that "feeling good" and "good" are not always the same.

Some guns function well with grease, but in others, the increased friction can cause malfunctions and the grease can trap contaminants.

Rem Oil is pretty much useless as a high pressure lubricant. There are much better options.

AK's seem to run best when "lubed" with anything.....from sand to KY jelly to walnut brownies.

I do a mix of gear oil and bearing grease. I can mix it to any thickness i want. I have been using it in my Romak 3, AR-15 and P226, no issues and almost no wear on any of my guns.

I use Ballistol on all mine for years and they all work as they're supposed to.
