Default Case stuck in lee sizing/depriming die.. now what?

Now to start this off, this case got stuck because I didn't know I had to use lube and ALSO because my first stuck case (which I did manage to get out) got stuck immediately AFTER I used lube on it.

Now, this ones a little trickier. I managed to get the collet nut (I think thats what its called?) off by unscrewing it with my wrenches, but now I don't know what to do next.. I can't take the depriming pin out. Its loose, but I don't know if it even *comes* out..

I tried hammering on the pin with my wrench to see if it would knock the case loose, but no beans.

What do I do next? I'm really frustrated.

I'm definitely going to be investing in some of this mythical reloading wax lube I've read so much about IF I can get this thing out. Maybe even a progressive turret. I'm doing.. or trying to.. reloading on a lee hand press right now.

    We need the details, too.

What caliber?? It sounds like rifle.

    What press?

Lee says if you LOOSEN that collet nut, then just bash repeatedly on the decapping pin with a hammer, it will remove stuck cases. Make sure the decapping pin is through the flash-hole, so you don't break the pin.

Of course, that assumes you have the press firmly mounted on a sturdy bench.

I had this happen with one of my 7mm Rem Mag cases when I used too little lube.

Review this link. The process worked for me.

Damn, you got off easy, I had the carbide insert, get stuck on a .45 case, and came out of the die....

    Its a .223 die resizing/depriming die.

And its a lee hand press, I said that in the OP near the bottom, should've made it more obvious.

If it's a .223 small base die, get used to stuck cases..........

I'm not sure what small base refers to.

Tomorrow I'm going to home depot.

I'm going to get a mapp/oxy torch (not related), a 1/4-28 inch tap, and bolt (how long is long enough? should I eyeball it or take my die with me?). A bunch of washers, and a metallic electrical conduit screw coupling.

    Thats everything, right?

Some companies sell a die "made" for semi-automatic rifles that sizes the base smaller than usual. It's not really necessary and is a NIGHTMARE on some casings.

The bolt in my puller is 1.5 inches. A 2" bolt should be plenty.

Edit: Using Lee dies you should be ok. Just lube the bases more.
