Denied transfer because of juvenile record
Im 25 years old i have nothing on my adult record at all clean as a whistle. I got into some trouble when i was 16 and went on probation from 17 to 21. i have one felony and one misdemeanor on my juvenile record. They denied me a transfer at the gun shop and he wants me to fill out these forms. The only reason i did it was because the guy at the gun store told me as long as i have a clean adult record i would get approved but know i'm dealing with this and i have a house and a family now that i would like to protect if need be. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Denied transfer because of juvenile record
im not even sure what they were it was so long ago but i think it was unlawful entry and money laundering. I was a young stupid kid my friends dad had bags full of change that he was saving up and and i took one of the bags and he found out and i turned myself in i was never arrested i gave the money back but he pressed charges so that was the only trouble ive been in my whole life.

The guy at the gun shop is incorrect, many juvenile records will count against you.

Re: Denied transfer because of juvenile record
I would take Gunlawyers word for it because he's a lawyer and I am not. I can only discuss my own issues.
I had a few convictions myself in my mispent youth. Some were straight convictions as a juvenile and others were "YO" which means if you were under 19 and did not get in any more trouble the record would be clean.
I have had no trouble ever buying a firearm nor did I have any trouble getting my LTCF. I was in the NYC court system and maybe NYS cases if under these conditions don't come up? I'm at a loss but hope it resolves for you quickly.

Re: Denied transfer because of juvenile record
You have a felony and you wonder why you are not allowed to buy a gun??
And you are not sure what you were convicted of? Kind of odd don't you think?Hoplophobia is funny

Re: Denied transfer because of juvenile record
i basically went to court they had things they were trying to get me for all of them were dropped except for those two but i dont have a paper in front of me telling me what they got me for. After the hearing i signed some papers which i have no idea what they were a couple of days later met my po officer which i met once and never heard from again. The whole thing happened and i was never really told anything i kinda went back to my life the money was returned and i was on probation for a while it was almost 9 years ago. im not trying to hide anything at all. That was the only thing ive done in my entire life. I know for a fact my adult record is clean. i guess i will have to get a lawyer then to try to help me with this because im aloud hunt with rifle and shotguns but i cant have a handgun. just seems a little weird for me are they just trying to get money out of me to purchase a handgun?

Go here and search for your name. That will give you information on what you were convicted for. Do a search by participant name.
