Pennsylvania NICS
Hey everyone, greetings from the Garden State! Here in NJ, there is currently a multi-day delay for processing NICS checks when you purchase a firearm. (It's generally taking people about 3-4 days from the time they purchase the gun to the time they get the call from the FFL to come pick it up since the NJ State Police NICS folks are so overwhelmed with requests.) I was wondering if our friends in Pennsylvania are having the same issue. I was thinking of taking a trip up to Cabela's in Hamburg on my day off this week, but didn't know if I'd run into any delays with NICS if I decided to purchase a long gun.
Thanks!

Re: Pennsylvania NICS
You should be good, especially if you go on a weekday. I was at an auction today and bought a gun (flintlock though so no PICS for it), but others seemed to be transferring their guns without too much trouble. As you probably know there's almost always a long wait at Cabelas.

Re: Pennsylvania NICS
Pa isnt too bad right now, cabelas always takes a couple hours tho, granted a few hours is better then a few days, but most gun shops can have them done much quicker then cabelas, but i'd still go and look around at the rest of the srore while i wait.

Re: Pennsylvania NICS
Thank you guys, I appreciate the info!! Glad to hear the NICS system isn't backed up in Pennsylvania like it is here in Jersey. Hopefully there are a few good deals waiting for me at Cabela's.

Re: Pennsylvania NICS
I purchased a gun on Thursday of last week. Went in at 2pm and left at 5pm. So even on a weekday it was very hard to get through. The whole shop was full of people waiting on PICS.
