Doesn't matter. On a shot per shot basis I think bigger is always a little better. Not much better, but a little. And for that you give up capacity and the economics of the smaller round. Whatever whoever feels like shooting. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and they both work.

On a side note foot pounds mean nothing to me personally. I don't think that's a factor at all and strikes me as little more than clever marketing. It's all about penetration with diameter being second.

    What was that saying?

"A 9mm may expand but a .45 wil never shrink."

That is one hell of a hot loading in 9mm.

Carry whatever you shoot best and what fits your needs the most.

I actually prefer .40 or .45, but there are some ok 9mm loads.

Double tap has a +P 115 GR that is 1415 fps and something over 500 ft lbs.

9mm is for girly men with no brains. 9mm could not stop a lap dog in heat. .45acp is for thick headed old timers living in the past. .45 kills in one shot. Even if you miss.

And if ya agree with this, seek education.

The only one lacking in education here is you.
