M16 runs perfect with or without can, 20" and 11.5"

    A little faster with can.

It's been over three months and the dealer still doesnt have the can. Is this normal? I feel like its never gonna come.

Oh yea guess what? I'm about to move to Bucks County in 10 days. So I wasted 400 bucks getting the trust made. I needed a trust because my local police cheif and sheriff wouldn't sign, but apparently the sheriff in Bucks will sign. Oh well...

Im guessing your dealer had to order your can?
This may take a bit depending on if the manufacture has any on hand and the wait for the Form3 to your dealer. Form3 seem to be right around a month or so.

No, you didnt waste $400 on a trust. Now you can buy at will with out getting photos, finger print cards, sign offs.
"hhmm lets see, i want to SBR that AR15 in my safe."
    -fill out Form1 (2x)
    -Cert of Comp
    -Copy of Trust
    -$200 check to ATF
-mail whole package 10 min later
    -.........wait

It finally came! I took a quick picture of it with my cell phone, attached to my buckmark. Now is when the wait really starts, I'm sending in the form 4 today.

Nice, but that only makes it worse.
But you're better off not even seeing/touching it until the stamp comes. LOL

Blow off the trust, at your age it's better to own the NFA items directly. That's what I tell my clients, the main reason to have an LLC (which in my opinion is better than a trust or corp) is because you can't get a CLEO signature from anyone. A trust is intended for saving your heirs the hassle of probate after you die; is that really a concern for you now?

Direct ownership of NFA firearms, for a guy in his 20's, is FAR better. Have you ever operated a trust? Do you understand the fiduciary duties?

If a client asks for a trust or LLC, I'll ask them why they want one. If it's just because they are trendy, I tell them to save their money, get the CLEO signature, have the pic taken, and own directly. Fewer legal landmines that way. Sure, I don't make any money from clients who don't really NEED work done, but that's the way I roll.

Thanks for the input. However, its too late because the paperwork is already in the mail. Also, I haven't actually moved yet (settlement is tomorrow) and my drivers licence still says Hatboro. Yes, I'm only in my 20's, but the trust will let my fiance possess the item (shes a trustee) and I have a daughter who is a benificiary. I think it will work out okay.
