Check out the prices on gunbroker.com. It seems a bit high to me.

The prices seem high to me for the US market, but I don't know how marked up your gun values are in Australia. Check with a "local" shop and see what you can get them (or similiar guns) for and it may be the deciding factor.

I thought your govt disarmed you all? No? Not knowing anything about US/AUS currency exchange rates or availability in your neck of the woods....I have no clue about those prices

Re: Need info on Rock Island Armory
The 5" RIA as pictured is priced US$459 new at a local shop. You can get them used here for $300-$350 if you are patient. They are great guns for the money. Mine is accurate and dependable.
The P85 typically runs US$250-US$400 used depending on the avarice of the seller and number of mags. I do not know the new price. Personally, I do not like the feel of the P85 in my hand, because of the slope on the triggerguard and where the TG meets the front gripstrap. That part of the TG rubs my middle finger and it's extremely annoying.
I hope this helps.

Re: Need info on Rock Island Armory
The RIA on gunbroker goes for $385 but you will have to pay your FFL guy which for me is $10. I have an RIA tactical full size I got brand new for $400and I LOVE IT! It's one of the most accruate handguns I own. I don't know anything about the Ruger. I would try to get the RIA or go to gun broker and get a tactical full size model since it has a better trigger.
