Default fixing a bad mp5 barrel

I had a "bad" mp5 barrel. The three lugs were not concentric or in line with the bore. The OD of the barrel was .015" out from being concentric to the bore.

IE... With the can on I was getting baffle strikes.

rather than drop another $400 on a barrel I decided to just thread the end and add a TROS 3-lug adaptor (beacuse I can and because I had a spare one laying around)

so I pressed out the barrel and set it up between centers of my lathe. I took a heavy cut and removed the lugs in one pass

Then I turned the end of the barrel down to .500"

I then cut two relief grooves for the threading tool

    Then I threaded it

Now all I need to do is press it back in and headspace..

It's actually not difficult, it just takes some specialized tooling.

I think i'm going to bead blast off the epoxy "paint" and do a Black Oxide finish.

I really do not like the thick "painted" finish
