    Default close call.....

after leaving the courthouse in lancaster after renewing my ltcf and my fiance getting hers, i saw a "possible bg" cross the street in front of us and wait at the back of a vehicle. as we walked past the vehicle he started following us about 10 feet behind. (i do not judge people by looks at all but this guy had thug/BG written all over him) As we were walking i positioned myself behind my fiance as to protect her if he was going to try a snatch and run. as i moved behind her i pulled my hands from my pockets and unzipped my coat. (yeah i know i should have had better access to my gun in the first place but it was cold and windy today.) anyway i think he saw my coat go open because he immedietly crossed back to the other side of the street and walked the other way.

was i just over paranoid or was this a possible BG? to me everything sent red flags up from the time he waited at the back of the parked car.

sounds to me like ya did good, although he'd have to be a pretty stupid BG to do anything in broad daylight by the courthouse. Not saying BG's typically aren't stupid, but wow!

Hard to say, but it never hurts to be aware of your surroundings.

Everyone says that carrying helps make you more aware of your surroundings. One thing that it's also made me do is be more aware of my own behavior. I've realized things I've done that might be interpreted as "shady" by other people, but were completely harmless.

I tend to be a fast walker. That will some times mean coming up behind someone pretty close, until I get a chance to pass. And if I don't have a chance to pass, I do that awkward thing where I'll take a couple of steps and then stop to let them get more distance. That probably freaks them out.

I'll also often start walking in one direction, and then make an abrupt turn as I realize that I need to do something else or that I forgot something where I just came from. If someone just passed me going the opposite direction, that must look to them like a classic setup for a robbery.

Of course I don't exactly look the part, so it's probably not a big deal.

    Thumbs up Re: close call.....

You got to home with your girl, safe and sound.

Thank God for his blessings and go forward in his grace.

    By anyone's account...a good day.
So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause.

Next time, just stop, or cross the street, or reverse direction. If you saw him possibly setting up to ambush you, why did you continue?

Because if he didn't continue, then the terrorists have won, silly.

Come down and sit outside York Co. Justice Center.....

You might have been a little more on edge, having the fiance with you.....

Hard to say but you handled it well. You didn't over or under react. Just the fact that the BG sees you are alert to your surrondings can stop trobule before it starts.

I don't want to be a dick, but no, he didn't. It's good that he was aware of what was going on around him, but walking into the trap that he watched the ?BG? set up was a serious error.
