Default What Size Barrel for my Zombie Gun

OK, I have a Remington 870 Wingmaster with a ribbed barrel. I want to make it a Home Defense / Zombie Shotgun.

I'm torn on what size barrel to put on it. Thought I would hear what you guys all thought. I lke the idea of carrying more ammo. But wonder if the shorter barrel would be a better choice.

18.5 = Shortest I can go. Going to make it easier to handle indoors. Going to limit magazine capacity.

20 = More choices for Magazine Extensions. Can carry more rounds. Still pretty easy to move around in the house with.

20+ = Lots of choices of extensions. Harder to move around thru the house. Keep pattern tighter longer ranges.

Which is more important in your book. Manuverability?? Magazine Capacity??

I would personally go with the 20.. it's a good median of positive/negative. However, if zombies really occur, NFA will be rendered useless and you could saw off a double barrel for a sidearm ... But until then I would go with the 20. Medium ammo capacity, decent accuracy, not the best maneuverability indoors, but should be good enough..

I prefer to dust the bad guys why they are a little bit further away from me than chainsaw distance.

Besides, everyone knows chainsaws work best on imps, demons, cacodemons, and the occasional baron of hell.

When I wanted a shotgun for HD, I considered barrel length. I picked the 20" barrel with a 7 shot factory magazine... it's a great compromise between the three choices (18.5, 20, 20+).

If strictly an indoor self defense gun, if me, I'd go with the shortest barrel I could legally get away with.....Your biggest concern is going to be maneuverability. What good is extra mag capacity if you can't swing the gun onto the target? Even a short barrel will still allow you a mag capacity of at least 4 - 6 shots. Plenty IMO.

    20" here from me.

Let me know if you need to "practice" in your house with a 20" or 18.5" Even if you are a Remington loving dog

Personally i would go for the 18.5 - less weigh where you can carry a few more rounds of ammo. (for the Zombie invasion of course)
