Default Deleting text in for sale adds after its sold

Is it just me, or does it bother other people, that when someone has a gun listed for sale and they sell it, they delete all the wording in the add. I know when i am trying to research prices on a gun that i've found and am interested in buying, it annoys me to know end when i find a listing for that gun, only to find all the info deleted...

used to be that you could delete the listing as well and change the title to "closed".....now all you can do is lock the thread.....at least its all deleted and you dont have to go down 3 pages of bumps to see "sold" at the bottom.

I dont mind posting sold in big red letters at the top, but its nice to still be able to read the condition of the gun and what they sold it for. So i know if the one i'm buying is a good deal, of if i'm getting shafted...

I agree with you. It is nice when researching selling prices.

I usually mark it SPF, then after I know the buyer is happy i'll delete it all because its not uncommon to get emails from people making sure the item is sold--sometimes months after the item is gone.

yes I completely understand what you mean...for average prices I usually check more related sites like gunbroker or gundealeronline or Eastcountyguns....etc...but I know where you're coming from.

I have noticed that most private sales are asking higher than what most online dealers are selling for though, that's why I refer more to those sites.

sorry about that folks, but its the posters prerogative to remove listings that they post after they sell it.

    its how it works.
