I wanted one for a while now, but ended up getting a Saiga AK-47 instead.

I loved everything about the CX! The ergonomics were spot on for me....it's a very, very nice rifle. The cheapest I could find was around $800 plus tax, which lead me to the Saiga at a gun show......$360 (unconverted). I spent $72 in parts & a few hours doing the conversion....about 1/2 the price of the Beretta. I reload both .40 & 9mm, so I would have saved money on ammo in the very long run, but $400 buys a shitload of 7.62x39 ammo!

As far as high cap mags go, the only one (I believe) that you can do that with is the 9mm CX. There are 33 round mags out there for that. I think you're out of luck with the .40 S&W.

I'll eventually get a CX in a year or so......I just love the platform & I have about 10-12 mags I can use since I have a 92fs as well.

I have the Cx4 9mm carbine. I would not hesitate to consider it a "go-to" rifle. It has never jammed, never failed, at all, ever, and once dialed in, it's impossible to miss with. I had it out this weekend, running 20 round after-market mags in it. It is boringly accurate. I recommend one without hesitation.

Okay, it's been a while but I had one in 9mm...
-the storm is the most naturally pointing carbine I have ever shot. it naturally just wants to spray the middle of the target.
-the 9mm round out of that carbine gets a lot of zip
    *the plastic trigger is crap
*your accuracy is limited by the round. 9mm is not going to shoot any better than 4-6" groups at 100 yards, if this is a concern of yours.
++I think the magazines aren't all interchangeable. Some of the Storm carbines work with the beretta 92 series, some are compatible with the Storm line of pistol magazines.
++I think you can get a barrel shroud so the front looks a bit less silly.

Great gun, sold mine to my dad when I decided I needed a marlin model 60 22lr rifle. And now that I have an M4gery, I don't miss it. But damn, that was a fun gun to shoot at the range. Until that plastic trigger made your finger hurt.

I just bought a 9mm CX4 from Tanner's in Jamison, PA for $629. He also has the 40 S&W for the same price. You can check out his listing on Gunbroker.com at the following link:

    thanks for the info,
did not realize the plastic trigger, seems a little cheap for this price of carbine.
as to 100 yrd accuracy. this firearm is intended for 50 yards and in. thinking about an
    Eotech for it also.
can the plastic trigger be replaced ?

I don't find I have a problem with the trigger on the CX4. For an all around plinker and "fun" gun it works for me. If your interested in upgrading the CX4, there are replacement parts including the trigger assembly available at SierraPappa. Here's the link:

    http://www.sierrapapacx4.com/

I dressed mine up with the Moerse Lekker Shroud, Bushnell Red Dot scope and nylon sling. The ML shroud is a quality product at less than half the cost of the factory shroud.

The ML shroud can be found at:
