    Default 12 ga. .410 adapter

does anyone know if you would be able to shoot .45 long colt out of a 12ga. .410 adapter?...not saying it would be practical, just something I was wondering.

I am not a gunsmith, but my concern is that the plastic/ aluminum adapter won't be strong enough to contain the pressure of the expanding gasses when the cartrige is fired. I personaly wouldn't want to try it. There might also be some issues with the thickness of the rim between the two cartrige types. Not sure whether the bolt would close properly on a 45LC cartrige. That said, I vaguely recal seeing a rifle/ shotgun combo in the Cabelas flyer at one point that fired .410 and possibly 44 mag rounds as well? Not to sure about that one either, but it did strike me as odd when I saw it in the flyer.

I'm sure someone else more knowlegable than I am will be along to confirm or deny this, but I would be afraid to ty it personaly.

No, You cannot. The .410 adapter has a bore diameter of .410". A .45 Colt has a bore diameter of .452"-.454".
You can shoot .410s in a .45 Colt chamber (if its long enough) but not the other way round.

ah ok, thanks for the clarification...I assumed they were both interchangeable.
