I have one its a pre-recall model. I cant say enough good things about mine. I love it, feels good in my hand and very accurate and super reliable for me. The grip is just a little long for CC sometmes...like with a t-shirt. But thats where the SR9C comes into play if you wanna go that way

    Thumbs up Re: Ruger SR9

I don't own one but my friend does i just shot it friday and must say i was very impressed i am not the best marksman with a pistol but this gun did everything for me at like 15 yards i put about 50 rounds into some one gallon bottles and did not miss and in the end shot the caps of the bottles with the last three rounds!

I think it is a great gun and very reliable he has put 400 rounds through it with out a failure!

I've had one for over a year ~ It was a POST recall gun. So far I've never had a problem, It even eats that crappy steel cased Wolf.

I think it's one of the best cost for what you get guns going out there. In other words,It's a Good buy, try one, You should like it.

yup thats what got it for me...when I fially admitted to myself that I was wrong in getting the Glock 23 and that it didnt feel good in my hands and that I wanted something that did I started looking..that was a year ago...I went to the gunstore and found the SR9.....it felt great in my hand and it was thinner than the Glock in the gun itself and grip..but it was just a bit too big for CC....I said man I wish they made this in a compact version...1 year later(2 weeks ago) I go to the gun shop again to look and they actually had it...(actually 4 of them) the SR9 COMPACT! grip is just a tad longer than a Glock 26/27's I can get my pinky on the bottom and I cant on a Glock...its thinner than a Glock got a better grip than a glock..I traded the Glock 23 in on it on the spot...$50 later I have a gun I like 100X more than the Glock .

the Compact actually feels good in my hand...1911 like is the closest I can say as to another gun it feels like. and the 17 round reload...pretty good thinking in Rugers part. Now I just need another hard to find because its new 10 rounder and im set for CC in PA and NY! I cant carry the 17 round reload in NY because of their retarded laws.
