Honestly, get the new Vortex SPARC or the Primary Arms...both are Aimpont T1 clones. I have the PA and I've heard PA owners who are using them on FALs and they are holding zero. You can get one for roughly $100. The SPARC will run roughly $200, but Vortex has a lifetime warranty that transfers. Vortex offers the best warranty in the business...great folks to deal with when something bad happens.

Eotechs aren't all that...if you want to spend Eotech money...spend it on an Aimpoint.

EOTech's are indeed all that and then some. Got my 512 from http://www.gundealeronline.com/EoTech-s/456.htm

They have a retail store in Lancaster so I just drove over to pick it up. $369, and when I got it there was a rebate going on for $30 off, so $339. Not sure if it's still going on though.

Aimpoints are good but way too much for what you get. You also need a mount when you purchase one, whereas EOTech has it built in.

    I agree 100%. I love my EOTech.

If you don't care about buying local type EOTech into google and you get like a million places to buy them from.

What's the difference between the M512 and the M552?? They have the same dimensions, battery power, style, etc.?

the 552 is night vision compatible. the 512 is not.

i think the 552 might be submersible to a greater depth as well.

Quite possibly, now that you mention it. I think (IIRC) the 552 is rated up to 30-some feet submersed, while the 512 only states as waterproof. (I can't get on the site at work because it's blocked as "weapons", otherwise I would have checked before asking )

    Thanks.

Now I need to decide if it's worth the extra $100 for the 552 or not...
