Remington Triggers
Today I got to look over the new Remington rifle trigger.
The X Mark Pro trigger will be installed in most of Remington's bolt action rifles including the 700 and model 7 ( I looked over a model 7).
Remington claims this new trigger to break like glass while fixing some of the problems the old trigger had. This new trigger has a safety that blocks both the trigger and the sear. The new trigger also is teflon coated to protect against rust...something the old style triggers were known for.
I have one major problem with the new X Mark Pro trigger... the assy body has bigger openings in it just begging to collect dust, dirt and grime. I think Remington could have done a better job of designing this trigger. At least it SHOULD prove to be safer.
I see many people throwing these triggers away and replacing them with a Timney or equivalent. Just as we see many Savage Accu-Triggers get tossed in the waste can.
