Default Leather Magazine Holder Question - Std or Canted

Some preliminary info - I have ordered a holster and double magazine holder from TT Gunleather (and belt). It appears that I still have several months before he will get to my order, so there is so time for me to "tweak" the order if I want to.

Anyhow, I was just at his site to check on the date period for the current orders he is working on when I noticed that the double magazine holder was also available in a canted version.

    Reference Links,

    Canted Double Mag Holder

Which got me to thinking, is there any advantage to selecting the canted double mag holder?
    - easier to carry?
    - easier access?
    - easier to conceal?
    - no difference?

    Any assistance/information/opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Gene

No practical difference in concealing. I prefer vertical, with my canted pouches the corner of the mags poke me in the bottom of my rib cage when I sit so I have to move them further back on my belt.

YMMV but I notice no difference in conceal-ability between straight and canted mag carriers. Canting plays a big role in drawing a pistol from a holster, but for everyday use I don't see any advantage over a straight carrier. A magazine isn't near the length of a pistol so you really don't need a cant to keep it out of your armpit during removal from the carrier.

    Thanks for the comments!

That was my gut feeling (i.e., no difference), however confirmation from some more experienced voices is what I was looking for to finalize my decision - that is why I came here for assistance.

I personally always prefer a cant on the mags.

The idea is if you are in need of another mag, (such as in a SHTF situation), you are more than likely to be down under cover in which your upper torso is bent forward, hence making a straight up mag a bit more difficult to reach for. The cant forward is suppossed to help with the reach, when crouched under cover.

    Try it and see.

I just use a old Gerber Multitool pouch, works great and can't tell what it is holding.
