Best 9mm defensive round.

What are your opinions on the best ammo to use in the 9mm. I was looking at the PowerBall in 9mm. The guy selling them to me was saying that they won't clog full of clothing like most JHP's when they come into contact with a heay jacket. I've always been a hydra shok kinda guy, but maybe I'm missing something, who knows.

So what do you reccomend.

with todays technology there really isnt a bad self defense round... yes there is a chance that a conventional hp could clog when going through heavy clothing but they are tested vigorously and if it happened all the time they wouldnt produce them... hornady critical defense and corbon powrballs have the poly tip that is supposed to help with feeding and prevent clogging but again i think its just a marketng ploy oin the expansion part.... the otherthing you have to take into account is what lenght barrel are you shooting from... some hp's (depending on grain size) wont espand fully out of some shorter barrels... id just splurge if you have the money and see what the most accurate for your gun and look up the manufacture specs to see what works best for ya.... good luck man and have fun

My favorite round tends to be the one that hits the target. But I don't know, maybe that's just me. YMMV.

I use hornady critical defense, they are designed to go through heavy clothes and guarantee expansion.

I'll stick with Speer Gold Dot JHPs for the time being. I prefer 115gr for 9mm.
