Default rem 870 tac w/spec ops

Other than the stock is there any difference between the normal stock 870 and the spec ops version?

I'm asking because a normal 870 is like $335 and one with the Spec ops is $580, I'm pretty sure you can get the stock for $130 and do it yourself, I'm wondering where the added cost comes from?

Keep in mind that the prices listed on Remington's site are MSRP. The actual price gap will be less.

The only difference in the 7 shot HD gun and the Knoxx Spec. Ops gun is the stock and forearm. The forearm on the Spec. Ops is round like the old "corn cob" design. The other forearm is like the standard Express field gun.

Building your own might save you a few bucks and you would have both stocks. The forearm would be the only difference.

Cabela's won't be any cheaper if you want the 870 with Spec Ops stock. Remington just has some off the wall pricing. I noticed the $200+ difference between the standard 870 to the Spec Ops model.

I have a Spec Ops for my 870 wingmaster and like the recoil reduction. I don't like how the stock looks compared to the Mesa Tactical stock.
