Default Quick Philadelphia Municipal Building carry question. . .

Hey guys. I am going to take my mom down town tomorrow to 1401 J.F.K. Boulevard, the Department of Revenue. They are saying we owe about $2000 on back real estate taxs, even tho we do not. So we have to go down and show them it's paid. . .

I just wanted to double check. I am allowed to carry in Municipal Buildings right?

Is there a courtroom inside this building?

If it's a 'court facility', signage and storage are mandated by law. If it's not, it's legal to carry there. There are lots of things other than just a court room than can get a building classified as a 'court facility', but no matter the reason, the signage/storage mandated by 913 still apply.

The Council finds that the possession of firearms and other dangerous
weapons in City Hall represents a clear and present danger to the
functioning of democratic government of the City of Philadelphia.
    Well, that certainly hasn't worked.

I think the politicians are a bigger danger to functioning government. As usual, blame the gun.

OK...so, as I understand it, a state-owned building, that is not a court facility, cannot bar us from carrying inside...is that correct?

And they cannot legally put up a sign saying no firearms and then charge us with trespassing if we don't leave...like a private property owner can?

And if it is not a court facility, they have no legal obligation to provide lockers anyway.

Gnbrotz, hopefully will give us his understanding of this here

    Not as I understand it.

The state itself is not bound by preemption, only local municipalities, so while it's not a violation of statute the carry in your average "state-owned" venue, the controlling authority is not prohibited from regulating the possession of firearms on the premises.
