nice comment at bottom of article:
I've really never been afraid for my life in a Red Lobster," quipped Sen. Mary Margaret Whipple, D-Arlington.
Please, ask Susan Gratia-Hupp [former house of rep, Texas] if she was ever in fear for her life while eating with her parents [now deceased] at a sea food restaurant.

This is some great news! Between this and the Wyoming house passing Vermont carry legislation, I'd say those two states are headed in the right direction.

Good news. Little by little we will win more states. Now if this ever happens in NY or NJ the world will end.

Now they need to pass campus carry. That's going to be the real heavy blow against the anti gun political complex by wiping out their recruiting mechanism. We need to make that happen.

    Anyone notice this little goodie:

_Restrict from federal regulation any gun made or sold in Virginia.
Like to see the details on that one

    this one is interesting too:

_Direct Virginia State Police to develop a plan to allow lifetime concealed handgun permits to state residents. Currently, permits are good for five years.

According to Virginia's website the house approved their own version of the Firearms Freedom Act. Similar legislation was passed in Montana and Tennessee last year.

Here is a link to the text of Virginia's bill:

PA is also trying to pass a bill virtually identical to this. Many other states are as well. (Something like 30 others are introducing legislation like this.)

Illionis and Wisconsin are way more draconian than NY & NJ.

Opponents attribute it to the nearly $1 million the National Rifle Association spent on Virginia elections last year

As a prisoner of the Peoples Socialist Republic of NJ, I SERIOUSLY doubt that ! Im currently in a fight with my local PD over an FID card because the Detective in charge of issuing them has decided he can make up whatever laws he wants on the fly to deny me. He wasnt real happy when I met with him and told him he was breaking the law and read him the appropriate statute's

Im pretty sure NJ is ranked right up there with NY and Illinois for draconian gun laws. Does Wisconsin have an AWB ? NJ Does.
