    Default smith pron

been awhile since i bought a smith. not that i have'nt been looking, but can't find the one i'm looking for.....at a decent price. so i bought this pristen 6" highway patrolman just to tide me over.
p&r of course! 6"s of "N" framed fun, now i can play with warmer 357 loads and not just waste powder.
i like the model 28's, so i don't mind having two if them....might have to track an 8.375" barreled version down some time.
now i have one with magna stocks and one with goncalo alves target stocks.

Terrific looking Model 28 - congrats. That's on my list to acquire once I replenish the gun fund. Re the Model 29 on your wish list, I noticed a nice-looking 29-2 with a 6" barrel on an auction referenced in a post on the Rifles forum: http://forum.pafoa.org/rifles-42/903...-give-gun.html. Auction is Feb 27 in Hagerstown, MD. The link to the auction pictures is http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/ph...zip=17268&kwd=. 24th row, far right is the 29-2, looks like it's got the diamond target grips.

Lots of nice Smiths in that auction, actually.

it is so tight it's not even funny.
the cylinder closes like a brand new door on a caddy.
i bought a brand new m22/1917, that was'nt this tight....either in closing or locking up.
the finish is almost flawless, it has just the faintest turn line.

i almost, almost hate to shoot it. the round count on it has to be super low.....but i'm going to change that.
i would think about ocing this....my bbq gun maybe!!
it's not flashy, just a big mean shooting machine.
