Default One less buck in the woods

Just a quick post from work. I got hammered tonight with MVA's.....and this guy was involved in the last one. This guy was running with some other deer and ran out in front of a motorcycle. The driver was banged up pretty good, but otherwise okay. This guy didn't fair too well.

I hope the rider heals up.. No hard feelings for the buck though.. I think they try to kill themselves at times..

Good luck to the driver and hopefully he'll be ok!

    BTW: Anyone claim the deer?

LOL....yes, as a matter of fact, the family of the motorcycle rider claimed it. I just told them to make sure they call the PGC within 24 hours.

Actually, I saw this deer about a week ago within a stone's throw from the back of my station. He was running with a few other nice looking bucks, which is probably what the other deer were.

What a waste of a perfectly good deer.

ETA: I normally see does hit on the road...I have yet to see a buck that was hit on a road.

Well that's good! Least it didn't go to waste!

Thats because they don't get a chance to lay there long. Either people pick them up and call the PGC for a permit (the legal way to do things). Or, they either take the whole deer or just cut off the head for the rack (illegal way to do things).

In this case, several fire department members were trying to get their mitts on the deer, but I gave the family first dibs.
