Alliant Power Pistol
Does anyone know of a shop with Alliant Power Pistol in stock in Monroe County or the surrounding area. I'd rather not order it as I don't want to pay the hazmat fee.

Re: Alliant Power Pistol
I was in A.S.S last week and I was told they haven't been able to get it in. Dunk's has been no help either.

I get mine from TnT reloading in Stockertown. It's a little out of your way but Tony has it on a regular basis in both 1lb and 4lb containers.

Re: Alliant Power Pistol
I just e-mailed TNT, their website says they have it in stock. I want to be sure before I go down that way. They only have evening business hours so looks like the family and I may be taking a trip to TNT and then Rio's Brazilian Steakhouse for dinner. Nothing like all you can eat Brazilian BBQ!!!

Re: Alliant Power Pistol
I will be heading there tonight(TnT). I usually show up around 7:00. It takes me about five minutes to buy and two hours to BS.

Re: Alliant Power Pistol
I'm going to try and go tonight, I couldn't make it last night. My daughter will be cooking at the young chefs academy so hopefully I can stop on the way back.

Re: Alliant Power Pistol
I'm not in Monroe County but before seeing this thread I thought I might be the only Power Pistol user.
I use it in all my 9mm loads. So far it has been good for a very accurate 115 gn LRN lead head. I started working up an accuracy load for a 147 gn LRNFP at subsonic velocities but put that aside until the snow melts.
What are you guys loading and what results are you getting?

Re: Alliant Power Pistol
I made it to TNT last night. Plenty of powder in stock. Looks like he does a bang up business during his short evening hours. I also enjoyed petting his little puppy.
(Philadelphia)
I like to keep the powder storage to a minimum. I use Unique in the 40 and 44 mag. I thought I could use it for the 9mm also. Turns out the free 500 bullets from Hornady are only 115 gr. Unique wouldn't work so I consulted the Hornady manual, and Power Pistol seems to be a great all around powder. So, I will be using CCI SP primers, Win cases(mostly), 115 gr. Horn XTP, and the Power Pistol. Eventually I will be switching my 40 cal loads for Power Pistol also.

Re: Alliant Power Pistol
I use it in the 9mm, 45acp, and 45gap with great performance and accuracy. It burns clean and has low recoil(IMHO). Keep in mind that PP was designed for semi auto pistols like the 9mm and .40.
