Moved to Pittsburgh in last 6 months, live downtown, work all the time........

Any advice on who to deal with for buying guns, ammo, and servicing?

For shops I think it's worth the drive to Washington County to go to Ace Sporting Goods (www.acefirearms.com) because they have the best selection around.

Wayne at Island Firearms on Neville Island just off 79 is great... he has a very small shop but does get some cool stuff in once in a while.

Dunham's will be your best bet for surplus rifles locally and maybe other rifles if you wait for sales. Other than that, I buy online honestly.

+1 for John at Firearms Transfers in the North Hills. Most other places really put the bolts to you for transfers.

Never dealt with any local smiths.

+1 for aces, one of my favorites!

Anthony Arms In West Mifflin is another good shop, wide selection and even a indoor range downstairs, its right next to Allegheny County Airport.

Classic Arms, Aim Surplus, J&G Sales, Bud's Gun Shop, Top Gun Supply... all kind of good places to burn up pay checks. Just depends what you're into I suppose.
