JUSTIFYING FORCE-Seminar
Justifying Force
Your Rights and Responsibilities as an Armed Citizen
Every person has the right to defend—even by force—his person, his liberty, and his property.
—Frédéric Bastiat
Bastiat, in his seminal essay “The Law” (1850) describes self-defense as the primary right from which all other rights flow.
Both the framers of the U.S. Constitution and, before them, the authors of Pennsylvania’s original Bill of Rights agreed with this notion of the primacy of self-defense (the latter even going so far as to include specific language on the subject). Yet “justification of the use of force” is one of the most widely misunderstood legal concepts—a misunderstanding that can, unfortunately, lead to tragic consequences for those forced by circumstance to exercise this fundamental right.
“Justifying Force” will clarify the many intricacies of the law surrounding use of force, and will definitively answer such questions as:
• When can I touch someone?
• When can I arrest someone?
• Do I have a duty to retreat?
• How do I gauge how much force can I use?
• How does the law change in my home vs. the street?
• Under what circumstances can I use deadly force
Join us for a 2-hour seminar with Lou Gentile that will give you the knowledge you need to protect your rights in a self-defense situation.
LOU GENTILE - INSTRUCTOR
Lou Gentile is President of Gentile-Meinert & Associates, Inc., CEO of Corporate Security and Investigations, and President of the Academy of Investigations and Protection. Re: JUSTIFYING FORCE-Seminar
Currently, we are hosting the event in the Pittsburgh area, as this is where we are based, but we conduct training programs throughout the state and would be happy to put something together if you have a group or organization in mind. Just shoot me an email or give me a call to discuss.
