    Default Pistol paperwork

    I purchased a .357 magnum many years ago. I have a permit to carry, but I have lost the original paperwork from when it was purchased. My questions are;
    1. Do I need this paperwork?
    2. If so, how can I get copies of the originals?

    Thanks for any help I receive.

    1. Nope.
    2. You don't need them.

    There is no firearms registration in Pennsylvania. It's your property. Enjoy it.

    There is no registration in PA. The paperwork you lost was just the Application/Record of Sale (SP4-113) that is required when you purchase or transfer a handgun. According to the PSP it is just a database of firearms purchased through a FFL. According to the law it can not be used for anything else (however, we know better) and it is supposed to be purged at certain time periods (again, the PSP says they do this but again it has been shown that they don't).

    Nothing to worry about, shoot and enjoy your gun.

    PS: If you are really worried about it, you could try going back to the place you bought it and ask them if they would make copies for you, but as said you don't have to have them.
