Re: Best AR-15 for $1,000?
Made me lol.
At any rate, I got my Stag new during the height of the craziness and still paid quite a bit less than $1000 for it. I never had a problem with it I didn't directly cause (and one bad mag I knew I shouldn't have bought in the first place). It has fired everything I've put through it (~3,000 rounds) without a hiccup. My brother's Bushmaster has a similar track record with under 1000 rounds through it, but cost a bit closer to $1000 when he bought it.
I don't think you can really go too far wrong if you have a grand to spend on an AR and get a decent deal on one.

$1,000 doesn't have to get you an "entry level" rifle.
You could get into a Tier 1 for that price (less FFL fees).

Better fit and finish than the 6920 that I had.

Re: Best AR-15 for $1,000?
Bushmaster M4geries are good for under 1 grand, they hold higher resale value then Dpms ,Stag and RRA but not as good as Colt. I love my Bushmaster and i havent been disappointed with it yet , i always get rid of the guns i am disapppointed with and replace them with another.
LMT is way above your price range and they are my favorite, but very expensive .

Stag 2t. hands down , no rational arguement against it. for 1k you get a ar15 cabine, with 4 way picitinny handgaurd, flip iron sights, multiple sling attachment points. really all you need is optics. you can get a trigger later if you want....but I have never seen the logic of putting a match grade trigger in a 16" battle rifle.

I would go with the DDM4 XM model. It is a great gun and it has the same specs as the Colt at a little less cost. I owned the DDM4 and it was the best gun ever.

Buy parts and build it. You can do a high quality build, all top tier parts (I used BCM) for under a g I would think...
