Re: converting single stack to double wasr
All you really need is a dremel tool to hog out the bottom of the magizine well and yes it is a solid conversion.

Re: converting single stack to double wasr
Yep, all you need is a Dremel and a cut-off wheel (or a couple as they break easily if you are not careful) for it. I used some calipers to measure some 30 round mags, measured the width of the receiver and then figured out how much metal to leave on either side. If you take your time you can end up with an AK with less magazine wobble than even the nicer more expensive ones.
I can dig up some before/during after pictures if you want.

You should also weld steel onto the sides of the mag well after you open it up for support.

Re: converting single stack to double wasr
you ALSO need to replace the piston, hammer, trigger , sear, pistol grip & brake
otherwise
you are in violation of 922(r)
all of the double stack WSAR's are imported as single stack (double stack are banned from importation) magwell's are opened up and compliance parts are swaped over to make a firearm w/ NO MORE than 10 imported partsLast edited by Mtdew; August 28th, 2007 at 08:16 PM.

Re: converting single stack to double wasr
I thought you had to have 10 U.S parts ., not that you couldn't have more than 10 import parts , is that a typo in your post or am I just smoked up?
