I can haz mosin?
I have purchased my first rifle, a Mosin Nagant. I have been trying to get one of these for severals weeks now, and it has been way harder then it should be. First I got turned down at Dunham's due to their idiotic store policy. Then last weekend I had to work 20 hours straight and never made it to the gun show. Finally, at the recommendation of members on here, I purchased a mosin from aimsurplus online. The price was awesome! I can't wait to get my hands on this thing. I'm looking forward to experiencing the shoulder-busting recoil for myself. I've only ever shot a 308 and 223...

Congrats on the new purchase!
They are a blast to shoot.
Please explain what the policy is at Dunham's. I have never heard anything and i have bought a few firearms there. Nothing since 2006 though.

Re: I can haz mosin?
I started another thread about this before. Dunhams won't sell me a mosin because my current address differs from the one listed on my driver's license. They won't honor my "change of address" form from the state, and won't take any other ID either. They basically told me, as politely as they could, to screw off until I get a new driver's license.

Sucks about Dunham's but congrats on the Mosin. Just get ready for the sore shoulder (and an addiction to surplus ammo)!

Re: I can haz mosin?
I'm on aimsurplus.com. What is the difference in the hex receiver? Is it worth $10? Thanks.

Re: I can haz mosin?
Hex receivers were made prior to WWII and more time was taken with their production. During the war the Russians needed to crank them out as fast as possible so the rounded receivers were easier to crudely machine. No difference in accuracy but you'll pay a bit more for hex as you saw. Just a personal preference.
