Just got home from picking up my Springfield 1911 and all I needed was my driver license. Took all of about 10 minutes.

OK. I am speaking for myself, then.

The first time I bought a handgun I was asked for my employer and their address. I asked if I had to give that information and the guy said that if I wanted the gun, I had to. That was at Grice's about 5 or 6 years ago.

Same thing happened 2 years ago when I bought another handgun at a different place.

Am I the only one who has ever needed to provide that info or are they just messing with me? I am sure they don't ask just cause they are curious. Maybe the forms have changed since then.

What is a temp DL? When I moved to PA a few years ago I went to PADOT within the first week or two and got my license in about an hour. They didn't give me any temporary license.

I just wanted to warn the OP so that he wasn't surprised when he got to the gun store. I've actually had to call someone for the address of my employer. HA!
