Carrying at a concert / Among a large group of people
Im a little curious. I went to a concert last night & Montage mountain. Upon going through the gate I was patted down (guy did a terrible job) and kept going on my way. Then I started thinking. If I was carrying as I am licenced to could they tell me I cannot? I did not recall seing any signs. However I did not look either.

Just IMHO, I would guess if they found it on you they could tell you to leave it in the car, and not permit you in with it. Most gates to concert venues have signs that state that weapons are not permitted inside, sometimes it is printed on the ticket and not posted at the gate.
It is private property and regardless of the legality, if they so choose to not let you carry on their property, that is their right to do, and you have to decide if you want to carry or see the concert more

Re: Carrying at a concert / Among a large group of people
I've always thought that the reason for the pat down was to prevent people from bringing in weapons and such. Whenever I go to a concert I always wear my "smart carry holster," because I know that if they do pat me down they won't touch my groin area where my gun is secretly hanging.
Only once did the security pat me down in that area (groin) and I really thought that I was gonna get busted. To make a long story short, he didn't say anything but he looked directly into my eyes (which seemed like an eternity) and then let me pass.
Take care,
rand

basically in this case concealed means concealed.. If you dont think they are going to find it, and are willing to risk having your ticket torn up and getting turned away go for it. They can't charge you with a crime as long as you leave when they say to leave, if you cause a fuss and dont go you can get a tresspassing charge. the No carry signs besides in the areas said by law(Court houses, Federal buildings, ect) have no bearing, but they have the right to ask you to leave, just like if you got to drunk, or had no shirt or shoes type of thing

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams

Personally, I think the security officer knew I was carrying a concealed weapon/firearm. It's either that or the security officer saw such a HUGH bulge on me and he just needed to feel it to see if a person my size/build, could really be so well endowed! Lol!
