    Default 180gr mosin ammo

    I bought a mosin at the Bloomsburg show today.I found 180gr hard ball non-corrosive match ammo.Is this ok to use?The other russian corrosive ammo was 147gr soft ball which I did not buy.

    Shoot away!! Nagants seem to shoot better with heavy bullets. What are the headstamps on this ammo?

    DO NOT...I REPEAT DO NOT USE that ammo send it directly to me and I will dispose of it properly for a nominal cost.

    I agree with dextrimental, shoot away. I was at the show, I think the headstamp was 10 and 60. Probably 182 gr. heavy ball, but the sign said 180. I don't see any 180 on http://www.7.62x54r.net/. (BTW akapjr, check out that sight for plenty of great Mosin-Nagant info.) Does that ammo have a colored tip? Yellow or silver?

    That's Yugoslavian (Prvi) heavy ball made in 1989. To clarify my previous post, those headstamp numbers were probably on the other ammo, and I may not be remembering the numbers right. (in other words, I may be pretty useless. Sorry)

    No colored tip...The bullet is a solid copper color...I bought it from the guy just to the left of the entrance of the show.

    It cost 24.99 for a bag of 50....I put it in my car & came back in..The price was 29.99 when I came back in.

    If the tip is not colored, it is not mil-surp
    or it is light lead...
