    Default Tröegs Brewery Tour

If you're a beer fan and near Harrisburg/Dauphin County, get to the Tröegs Brewery on a Saturday afternoon for a tour. It's a pretty neat operation to see, although they don't do any bottling on Saturdays. While you're there, pick up a growler of Rugged Trail for about $20 (around $8 for a refill.)

I just checked it out this past weekend (CC of course ) and it was a pretty good (and cheap!) way to kill an afternoon.

I usually go for Hopback, or Nugget Nectar, if they have it(seasonal).

    But then, I'm a Hophead.

After Troegs, head up the street to Appalachian Brewing, the food there is GREAT, and some of the beer is too.

I recently tried Nugget Nectar for the first time and I love it! Very tasty. Everytime I try a Troegs for the first time I am impressed. And I'm a very picky beer person. I too want to try this tour out sometime.

I'm so glad they sell it in NJ now. I went to school with one of the brothers that started the brewery. I love Nugget Nectar, Hopback, and the variety packs they sell. However, the Mad Elf doesn't do it for me....just sayin. I think everyone should watch the documentary "Beerwars", to see what sort of competition these guys are up against. Truly a great film.

I have been a Troegs fan for many years. I have a shirt that I have no idea where I got it from with the Troegs Brewery Emblem on it. I love that shirt. I love their beer.

I started attending Micro Brew Festivals about 10 years ago. Not a good idea. Now I am spoiled and won't even touch a "Domestic Beer". It is like drinking flavored water.

I always ask for a local brew when ever I am on vacation. I would rather pay $2 to $5 more for a beer, and get something with real taste, substance, flavor, aroma,..... Oh shit I need a beer.

Micro Brews Rule.... And Troegs is doing it right. I was hooked on the Honey Nut Brown Ale for a long time.

I am not sure how things are in your area, but virtually every bar in Philly serves at least 5 different MB beers on tap and change them frequently. They have these taprooms now with 12 to 15. The new one, City Tap House, has 60!!!!! Not all MB, but still...I mean, that's still at least 3 beers more than they have in heaven.
