Re: Reloading Glock 19 9mm
it depends what you're paying for ammo and what you're paying for components and what you value your time as. Shop for components and you should be able to reload for less than $10 a box. You should use jacketed bullets in a Glock due to the polygonal rifling according to Glock. Others will say it doesn't make a difference.

Re: Reloading Glock 19 9mm
That is true. I am paying 22 cents a round right now for WWB 9mm.
I won't factor the labor cost in. Just powder, primer and jacketed bullet, right?Hoplophobia is funny

Re: Reloading Glock 19 9mm
I'd say no point in reloading at those prices.
Your labor would be worth $1 plus sales tax, less than $2 total.

Re: Reloading Glock 19 9mm
i reload 9mm for target shooting, cost bout 6.00 a box. may not sound like a big saving but I find myself shooting a lot more now. and when ammo is hard to find you can just reload some.
get a lee pro 1000 for 160
set of die for 30.00
1 lb of powder 20.00
1000 plated 9 for 70.00
1000 primer for 35.00
book for bout 25.00
so you 1st 1000rd will cost 340.00 after that you'll just be saving.
or go with a lee turret kit for bout 100.00 instead of the pro.

Re: Reloading Glock 19 9mm
Reloading is always worth it simply because you can load them to your specs, don't have that option with factory ammo.

Re: Reloading Glock 19 9mm
In my opinion, it's definitely worth it. I use 115 gr FMJ over 4.5 gr bullseye with federal primers (or whatever I can find). Bullets are $68/1000, primers $30/1000, and powder $17/pound. That comes out to about 11 cents per round or $5.44 per box of 50. Here's a link to a handloading cost calculator that will save you from crunching numbers on a calculator.
It's not just about the cost savings (which are substantial). It's fun. I never factor in the time I spend loading because I enjoy it so much. It's become another hobby... Sometimes I actually have to shoot so that I will have brass to reload (not really, but you get the picture...)! Also, as arjohnson pointed out, you are not at the mercy of what the ammunition companies make. You can create a load that works best with your gun. Experimenting with loads is a fun part of the reloading process.

[QUOTE=CPratt;1084353]I get mine from Precision Delta for $68/1000. They take a long time to get shipped, but the prices can't be beat and their customer service is excellent. Shipping is free on bullets too.
Here is a sticky for component sources.
